Kalampaat artist, Malappuram-Mankada
He was born on May 23, 1988, to Kadannamanna Narayanan Kutty and Alanallur Keezhepattu Shanthakumari.He was born in the Kadannamanna Kuruppattu Tharavattu, which has a 300-year-old tradition of the ritual art of Kalamezhuthupat.
He learned Kalampattu from his grandfather and father from the age of 4 and made his Kalampattu debut at the Muthukursi Kavu Temple in Keezhattoor at the age of 7. He has been working in the Kalampattu field for 30 years.
To popularize the ritual art of Kalampattu, which is becoming increasingly alienated, and to introduce it to new generations, an activity called Kalampattu Shilpashala is being carried out in schools, colleges, and on social media.
Kalampattu workshops were conducted in 42 well-known colleges including Calicut University,Ernakulam Maharaja’s College,Aluva UC-College,Thrissur Kerala Varma College,Palakkad Victoria College,Kozhikode Guruvayurappan College, Palakkad chembai Sangeetha college,Nattika Sree Narayana college, Mannarkkad Kalladi College, Kozhikod Farooq College.
Kadannamanna Sreenivasan, who is completing 30 years in Kalampat, has been awarded the Kerala Book of Records, Kerala Folklore Academy Award, Kerala Kshetra Kala Academy Award, Yuva Kala Nipuna Award, Thilaka Smriti Award, Siva Shakti Award, Pratheeksha Award,and Yuva pradhibha award
