Kerala’s Young Chess Prodigy & Record-Breaking FIDE Talent

At just 6 years old, Aaradhya Kommery Rajaneesh has already established herself as one of Kerala’s brightest young chess players. Recognized by the Kerala Book of Records as the Youngest Female FIDE Rated Player in Kerala in Feb 2026, she has combined discipline, strategy, and fearless play to dominate district and state level tournaments.
Daughter of Rajaneesh Kommery and Veena Rajaneesh, Aaradhya is currently a 1st standard student at Chambad L.P School, Kannur. Her father and brother are also FIDE rated players from May 2025. She started to learn chess by watching her brother and dad play, taking it up on her own interest. She played her first tournament on 19 November 2023, at the age of 4 years, 7 months, and 13 days. With her family’s strong support, she balances academics with a rigorous training and tournament schedule.

She has also won 1st Place in her age category (U7, U9) in prestigious events like the Great Minds All India Rapid Rating U8 Girls, U7 category at the Under-11 State Tournament 2025 (CAK), Kerala Rise 2025 at Kannur in U9, and in various other tournaments.
Beyond her championship wins, Aaradhya has shown remarkable consistency across every tournament she plays. She claimed the runner-up trophy at the Thalassery Thaluk Under-10 tournament, proving she can hold her own even against older players. Her standout results against older players include 8th place in the main list of the CAK-CiS Kerala State Under-12 Championship 2025, 5th place in Under 9 Kerala state championship 2026 (SCTC) and 10th place in the main list of the Under-11 State Championship 2026 (SCTC). She has also finished second in her age category at several key events in U8, U9 categories and U9 in the N. V. Prabhu Memorial International Chess Below 1700. Her strong performances include a third place finish at the Kannur District Under-9 Girls Chess Championship 2024, along with dozens of other podium finishes that highlight her reliability and fighting spirit on the board.
National Stage & Records
On the national circuit, Aaradhya represented Kerala at the 38th National Under-07 Girls Chess Championship 2025 in Odisha, finishing 44th among 128 players. She followed this with a standout performance at the 14th National School Chess Championship 2025 – U07 Girls in Guwahati, Assam, where she secured 4th Place among 45 players: a Top 5 National Finish. She has participated in state, national, and international level tournaments.
These milestones led to her Kerala Book of Records recognition as the Youngest Female FIDE Rated Player in Kerala. She has also achieved the FIDE Online Arena title: Arena Candidate Master (ACM).
A Family of Champions: Brother Aadesh Kommery Rajaneesh
Chess excellence runs in the Kommery family. Aaradhya’s elder brother, Aadesh Kommery Rajaneesh, is a formidable player in his own right. He played his first tournament on 1 October 2023, at the age of 8 years, 9 months, and 22 days. He is a District Level Champion in Under-11 and Under-12 categories, Sub District Champion Under-14, and Thaluk Champion Under-15. He has participated in state, national, and international level tournaments.
Beyond chess, Aadesh is recognized by the Kerala Book of Records for Multitalent, showcasing his versatility across disciplines. In the digital arena, he holds the prestigious FIDE Online Arena title: Arena International Master (AIM), reflecting his dedication to chess.

While chess remains their shared passion, both Aaradhya and Aadesh are known for sharp focus, sportsmanship, and competitive spirit. With district, state, national, and international level experience at such young ages, the siblings are setting new benchmarks for youth in Kerala chess.
