A young prodigy from Chennai has been making headlines with an extraordinary artistic achievement. Gabrio Agni, born on April 30th, 2019, did 15 world records by completing over 205 paintings within just 48 hours.
Gabrio, son of K. Balu and Jasmine Balu, is from Old Pallavaram and is a Class 2 student of Holy Family School, Keelkattalai. His artistic journey started when he was three years old and used to draw small objects in focus. Unlike other children of his age, who use mobile phones for playing and entertainment, Gabrio continued to watch drawing tutorials on the device and nurtured his interest in art.
Motivated by the intention of recreating everything he sees, he developed new ways of painting and actively participated in competitions. Starting from school-level contests to big events held across the district, Gabrio showcases his skill with great enthusiasm and a constant hunger to learn.
He has been honored by the Chengalpattu District Collector Ms. Sneha and Tamil Nadu Education Minister Anbil Mahesh, recognizing his exceptional talent at an early age.
The talent also fetched him a place in various prestigious record books, including India Book of World Records, Oscar Book, Kerala Book of Book, Nobel Book, and London Book of World Records. He has also been honored by the Aram Foundation and Abdul Kalam Foundation.
During a three-day record attempt last May, Gabrio developed an allergy to paint and a fever. His parents wanted him to give up, but the determined young artist refused to give in. In a very inspiring display of grit, he finished the challenge a day ahead, proving his strength and passion.
With over 200 prizes and certificates so far, Gabrio continues to enjoy very strong family support, including from his grandparents, aunt and uncle. Today he is enrolled in a drawing class to further fine-tune his skills.
The journey of Gabrio reminds one of what is possible when a child has a dream and someone to nurture it. His art speaks louder than his age.
